It was about time to have a "SPEEDWHORE”-theme song, right!? We thought so too and therefore wrote this song shortly before the recordings for this E.P. started. Lyrically it’s inspired by William Gibson’s science-fiction classic “Neuromancer” from 1984 by which we gave the novels hero “Case” a new byname...SPEEDWHORE, what else!?
lyrics
(Solo by Tim)
HERE I GO AGAIN, CHIBA CITY 2 A.M.
ARCADES FLASHING, MAKING CRAZY SOUNDS
I'M A CONSOLE COWBOY, BORN TO SELF-DESTRUCT
CYBERSPACE KING, SECOND TO NONE, YEAH
I’M BORN TO SPEED
I’M BREAKING THE BLACK ICE
ROLLING THE VIRTUAL DICE
SPEEDWHORE
YEAH I HOLD THE MAGIC KEY
I’M THE MASTER OF THE ELECTRIC SEA
SPEEDWHORE
LIKE A MOTH ATTRACTED BY LIGHT
I LONG FOR YOUR DEADLY NEON NIGHTS
BORN TO SPEED, I'M ALWAYS ON THE RUN
THE FATAL MESSIAH, SECOND TO NONE, YEAH
I’M BORN TO SPEED
I’M BREAKING THE BLACK ICE
ROLLING THE VIRTUAL DICE
SPEEDWHORE
YEAH I HOLD THE MAGIC KEY
I’M THE MASTER OF THE ELECTRIC SEA
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
